Departing from Downtown Auckland your tour takes you along Queen Street, the "Golden Mile" of Auckland’s business and shopping district. Many of the early buildings dating back to the 1880’s still remain, threaded amongst the modern high rise buildings of today.
Drive past New Zealand’s largest University before traveling across Auckland’s Harbour Bridge for expansive views of Waitemata Harbour, boat marinas and the city skyline. The city has 48 extinct volcanic sites, many of which can be seen as we make our way through the domain, parks and garden areas. Visit Auckland Museum to view fascinating exhibits of Maori and early European history of New Zealand. Later, continue your tour through residential areas, gaining an insight into where, how and why Aucklanders enjoy living in their beautiful city.
After your 3 hour coach tour, you’ll visit Kelly Tarlton’s Antarctic Encounter and Underwater World. Walk through a life-sized replica of Captain Scott’s hut and see live Yellow Eyed Penguins strutting on the snow and ice as you ride by in an Antarctic snowcat. This experience is followed by a ride along a moving walkway where you come face-to-face with stingrays, sharks and a large variety of beautiful fish swimming right above you, separated by just 7cm of clear acrylic in an underwater tunnel.
