It is the tapestry of great ecosystems that creates the beauty of Kakadu. Sandstone escarpments shaped by an incomprehensible time span, monsoon forests, flood plains and great rivers serpentine journey to the sea. Stunningly beautiful billabongs and lagoons are richly clad in a profusion of colourful water lilies edged by pandanas and paper bark trees. Birds of every size and fearsome crocodiles laze on the mud slides of the billabongs and aboriginal artwork is painted on the rock cave walls. This place is Kakadu.
