Travel through the Zapotitan valley, taking the highway to the city of Sonsonate and the world-famous volcano complex located there. Enjoy the breathtaking natural beauty as you walk through Cerro Verde National Park. This inactive volcano soars 2,035 meters over the sea level. Stroll and explore the various paths, including an orchid collection. Don´t miss the chance to visit the El Mirador del Pacífico, or The Pacific Viewpoint, from where you will see the Izalco Volcano, towns of Sonsonate, Juayua, Nahuizalco, Zalcoatitan, the Acajutla Port and part of the Apaneca Sierra.
On the sightseeing path at Una ventana a la Naturaleza, or Window to Nature, you will appreciate de deep blue color of Coatepeque lake, the Santa Ana and Izalco volcanoes and surroundings. Then we go to Lake Coatepeque, one of the biggest and most important lakes in the country. Finally head to Santa Ana with its incredible and historical cathedral.
