Description

Travel through western El Salvador, passing by colonial churches and classic structures dating all the way back to the 17th and 18th Centuries!, Visit the historic city of Izalco, an important part of El Salvador´s history, from pre-Columbian to colonial times and into the present. This region was the traditional seat of the landlord of Izalco, an indigenous authority that the Spaniards encountered upon their conquest of this nation.

Continue to the colorful city of Nahuizalco, or “the four Izalcos” according to its meaning in the Náhuat language. In this native colonial city, characterized by its ornate details and crafts in wicker and wood, take time to shop and browse for souvenirs. You´ll also have the opportunity to visit the City of Juayúa, which name in Náhuat means “River of purple orchids.” Juayua holds a rich history of coffee production, anchor of El Salvador´s economy for nearly a century! Enjoy a delicious lunch at Villa de Apaneca before exploring a coffee plantation and returning to your accommodations after a full day of sightseeing!
