Description

Explore the beautiful and historic city of San Salvador! Stroll up and down the scenic main avenues, and marvel at the monuments and buildings along your route to the historical center. While there, you'll visit the Metropolitan Cathedral. Constructed in 1905, this architectural masterpiece will astound you -- in the basement of the cathedral is the final resting place of the Fourth Archbishop of San Salvador, Monsignor Romero, who was assassinated in 1980. Outside, the Plaza Gerardo Barrios offers a perfect view and photo opportunities of the facade of the cathedral and the National Palace. You’ll also see a relief map of El Salvador located on a military base, showcasing the geographic highlights of the country.

After your journey through the streets of San Salvador, travel the short distance to the Pacific Ocean. Enjoy a delicious meal and the incredible scenery and warm Pacific waters of the shore. Return to San Salvador immediately after sunset.
