The Elixir of Love Feb 9 – 18, 2007
Donizetti’s The Elixir of Love, a new production, will make its debut in Denver. Love-struck Nemorino, who pines for the enchanting Adina, is convinced by the mysterious Dr. Dulcamara to win her heart with a magical elixir. Yet, the true magic exists in Adina’s charms and Nemorino’s endless devotion. Characters achieve true happiness after the American innocence of the 1910’s and a delightful score and amusing libretto, this romantic opera is poised to arrive just in time for Valentine’s Day.

Un ballo in mashera is Verdi’s burning tale of guilty passion and murderous jealousy in the royal court. As fortunes unfold, this love triangle puts both the bonds of friendship and loyalty to the test. The drama climaxes at the fames “Masked Ball”. With a concoction of drama and soaring arias, Un ballo in maschera is grand opera at its best. Featuring all new sets and costumes, Un ballo in mashera will be set in the late 1700’s in the royal court of Sweden.
