During the Renaissance, the Loire River Valley was a favorite destination of the French kings and their courtiers to escape the hustle and bustle of court life. The fortunate result of these excursions is the historic, elegant castles and architectural masterpieces that remain. Art and history have combined to create a charming way of life in this region known as the "Garden of France."

Our itinerary will include:

Chateau de Chenonceau: Take a guided tour of this elegant Renaissance castle famous for its bridge spanning the Cher River. Relax and enjoy lunch on your own in Amboise or Chenonceaux.

Chateau de Cheverny*: Tour this charming privately owned castle filled with fine furnishings and beautiful, meticulously maintained gardens.

Chateau de Chambord*: Visit the royal castle of Chambord, the largest in the region, featuring a unique staircase built by Leonardo de Vinci and lush, beautiful grounds.

*Saturdays in Summer: Visits Amboise, Chenonceau and Chambord.

(Amboise is a beautiful historic chateau overlooking the Loire River)

• All castles are equipped with excellent souvenir shops that are well worth the visit.
