For every guest riding on the blushing buses a contribution to the local Breast Cancer Foundation is made on behalf of the operator of the tour. "The beauty of a project like this is, not only are we raising funds to support the foundation, it's raising an amazing amount of awareness about breast cancer," CEO of the Atlantic Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, Nancy Margeson, said at the tour's unveiling in Canada earlier this year. Officials from the Breast Cancer Foundation project stated that the tours will raise as much as $150,000 per year in various worldwide cities for the cause. Margeson said she feels the cause behind the tours will be the hook to get visitors on the buses and traveling across major worldwide cities. "You think 'Will I or won't I?' and then you think, 'Wow, part of my ticket is going to breast cancer... I'll do it,'"‚ she said.
The BIG PINK Sightseeing tour began in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada www.TourismNewBrunswick.co.uk and has since received worldwide recognition as a result of being on the CBS morning show in New York and the attention of Gray Line operators worldwide at this year's annual conference held in late August. Saint John, New Brunswick is located on the world renowned Bay of Fundy which has the highest tides on the planet. Fundy's extreme tides create a dynamic and diverse marine ecosystem that has placed it as one of the finalists, and only Canadian finalist, in the New7Wonders of Nature Campaign. www.votemyfundy.com Visitors to the Bay experience the renowned coastal rock formations, sustainable coastal development, and marine wildlife such as migratory birds and 12 species of whales; including the endangered North Atlantic Right whales.
