DENVER, Colorado – 11 July, 2012 – Catch a wave with Gray Line Nicaragua! The world's governing surfing authority, the International Surfing Association (ISA) has chosen the local leader in Nicaraguan sightseeing and transportation, Gray Line Nicaragua, to organize this year's World Masters Surfing Championship.
The event will be held July 14th through the 22nd in beautiful Colorado Beach, Nicaragua, hosting over 250 competitors from 25 countries and crowning the 2012 World Masters Surfing Champion. The event will garner global media coverage for both Gray Line Nicaragua and the region, highlighting Colorado Beach's ideal tides, consistent waves and warm water temperatures. Surfing superstars Tom Curren, John Ashton, and Layne Beachley will compete in the over-35 competition for pride and the title of Master Surfer.
Gray Line Nicaragua will organize and present the event, offering their services for roundtrip airport transfers between the Augusto C. Sandino International Airport and Colorado Beach, hotel reservations, one-day and multi-day sightseeing excursions and car rentals. The International Surfing Association (ISA) is recognized by the International Olympic Committee as the World Governing Authority for Surfing. It was originally founded as the International Surfing Federation in 1964 and has been running Open Division World Championships since 1964, Junior World Championships since 1980, and Masters World Championships since 2007. ISA membership includes the surfing National Governing Bodies of 69 countries on five continents. Its headquarters are located in San Diego, California. It is presided over by Fernando Aguerre (Argentina), first elected President in 1994 in Rio de Janeiro and re-elected seven times since.
