DENVER, Colorado — March 17, 2010 — Ambassatours Gray Line, serving the Maritime Provinces of Eastern Canada, joins forces with the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation to save lives.
Ambassatours Gray Line embraces a steadfast approach toward helping its community on both a local and global scale. A simple idea to team up with the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation quickly transcended into a tangible initiative later labeled the "Big Pink Bus Tour."
With the goal to generate awareness and funding in its line of sight, Ambassatours Gray Line purchased eight new hop-on hop-off motorcoaches, each fully branded after the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. The buses are set to service the Saint John, New Brunswick's local population, as well as an overflow of tourists that visit the port city by way of cruise ship every year.
"Saint John is the perfect starter locale for the project," stated Dennis Campbell, President of Ambassatours Gray Line. "Not only is it a beautiful destination, but last year there were over 190,000 cruise ship passengers that visited the city. And, this year we project around 214,000 passengers."
Set to launch in May 2010, Ambassatours Gray Line is kicking off the Big Pink Bus Tour with a "Mothers Ride Free" promotion hosted over Mother's Day weekend. All other passengers will be asked to donate five dollars, in which 100 percent of the proceeds will go directly to the foundation. Additionally, 2,500 miniature toy buses, replicated after the original Big Pink Bus, have been produced to drum up additional contributions estimated at fifty-percent of sales. Local radio stations, as well as a national television station, are set to promote the program opening weekend.
"We are on a mission to fight breast cancer," said Mr. Campbell. "We've invested quite a bit of manpower, capitol and creative thought into making this program a tremendous success. Not to mention, it has already proved itself by generating positive energy in the community. I feel extremely proud of my team. And, I look forward to working with the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation and the community of Saint John."
