Gray Line Las Vegas Insider Tips

Things to do in Las Vegas
1. Grand Canyon Tour

Hop on a bus tour to see the majestic Grand Canyon from Las Vegas. The tour takes you to the West Rim of the canyon, providing breathtaking panoramic views and is the best way to see the natural beauty of the 277-mile-long canyon while also learning more about the city. If you dare, you can take a walk on the Grand Canyon Skywalk — with an 800-foot drop — for the very best views.

2. Shows on the Strip

If you're interested in seeing a show, Las Vegas is famous for the variety of performances on the Strip. From the Cirque du Soleil shows, such as O and Mystere, to the legendary music and light performances of the Fountains of Bellagio, it's well worth taking the time to catch a performance during your visit.

3. The Mob Museum

If you're interested in the history of Las Vegas, the Mob Museum is a must-see destination. This fascinating museum takes a look at the history of the Mafia and organized crime in Las Vegas and the United States, providing a great way to learn more about the city's past. You can sit in a speakeasy, and find out all about the founding of the FBI, and its attempts to break the mob.

4. Neon Museum

Another great way to learn about the history of Las Vegas is at the Neon Museum. It features a collection of old neon signs from Las Vegas' past and it's a cool way to see how the city has changed over the years and to get a sense of its vintage charm. In what is known as the Boneyard, you’ll find signs from various hotels and establishments, such as the Stardust, Sahara and Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.

5. Hoover Dam Tour

The Hoover Dam is a short drive from the Las Vegas Strip and is one of the icons of American engineering. You’ll see stunning views of the dam, Black Canyon and the Colorado River. The dam is covered in statues of American eagles, as well as designs from Navajo and Pueblo Native Americans. The guided tours offer a huge amount of great information about the history and construction of the dam.

6. Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens

If you're looking for a relaxed activity, the Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens is a great place to visit. These gardens at the Bellagio hotel are free to visit and are full of beautiful flowers and plants. There’s a new installation each season that fills the 14,000-square-foot botanical gardens. You can dine in the conservatory, and, if you want to relax some more, visit the spa.

7. Adventuredome Theme Park

Take the kids to the Adventuredome at Circus Circus for a day of wild rides under a huge pink glass dome. It offers a variety of rides and attractions for all ages, and it's conveniently located on the Las Vegas Strip. The Canyon Blaster is the world's largest indoor double-loop, double-corkscrew roller coaster, and El Loco has two dive loops. The park also has plenty of rides for younger children to enjoy.

8. Fremont Street Experience

If you're looking to gamble but are on a budget, visit the Fremont Street Experience. It's a covered pedestrian mall that features a variety of casinos with lower minimum bets than those on the Las Vegas Strip. It's a great place to gamble without breaking the bank. The mall also holds regular light shows from 6.00 pm and three stages for concerts, which are often free.

9. Hoover Dam Bypass Tour

For those interested in engineering, take a tour of the Hoover Dam Bypass. This 1,900-foot arched bridge across the Colorado River offers spectacular views of the dam and Black Canyon. The Pat-Tillman and Mike O'Callaghan Bypass bridge is only 1,500 feet from the dam, so the tour is a great way to see Hoover Dam up close and learn more about the engineering and construction of the bypass bridge which opened in 2010.

10. Enjoying the scenery

If you want to escape the bright lights of Las Vegas and relax, rent a car and take a scenic drive through the surrounding Mojave Desert and Sierra Nevada mountain landscapes. There are many different parks and scenic areas to explore nearby, such as the Valley of Fire and Red Rock Canyon — both full of stunning views.
