Salem & Marblehead Day Trip From Boston

7 Hours

Price Breakdown:

Travel north from Boston to historic Marblehead, the birthplace of the American Navy. Visit Abbott Hall (closed Sundays) to hear a short lecture and view the original 7’x10’ painting, "The Spirit of 76." Once in Salem, you will have time to explore on your own the many attractions and museums in the area (as time allows.) Show your Gray Line Discount Card and receive a special discounted rate on admission when you visit Nathaniel Hawthorne’s Custom House and "The House of the Seven Gables" or the Salem Witch Museum. You may want to have lunch at Pickering Wharf on Salem Harbor. Whether it is witches or authors, museums or shopping, you will find Salem to be an enjoyable city.

During the month of October, Salem is a special place to visit. All month long they feature "Haunted Happenings" all around town...Fairs, festivals, live music, and probably a witch or two!

This was a great tour! Although the weather was cloudy it set a “ Halloween “ mood! The coach was very comfortable . We had a wonderful tour guide/ driver Tony. He was knowledgeable and kind. I took my 10 yr old son - we both learned so much about the Salem witch trials . We had plenty of time to discover Salem.Surprisingly Castle Rock was a highlight- gorgeous views of the coastline. Marblehead also lovely. I recommend this tour and company.

The late start and long wait at the pickup location was frustrating but our tour guide made up for lost time and made sure we saw all of the items listed on the tour.

The tour transportation was good (except the bus was too hot on the way to Salem due to a malfunctioning bus). A replacement bus was procured for the way home. Bob's commentary on the way to Salem was very informative. Unfortunately the ride home was very long due to the multiple hotel drop offs. I wish he would have gone to the Gray Line Transit building first and dropped off the people who wanted to get off there first and then gone to the individual hotels after.
