Itinerary

Escape the city and get a glimpse of “the simple life” by visiting this wonderful estancia (ranch). Don Silvano is an authentic Argentinean Ranch where agricultural-cattle work is an everyday way of life. Luckily for us, Don Silvano opened its doors to visitors eight years ago, allowing them to learn about all the interesting parts of the gaucho life. A gau-cho [gou-choh] is a “South American cowboy usually of mixed Spanish and Native American Ancestry".

This tour will delight all of your senses, starting with a welcoming reception in the traditional Rancho de Adobe. Here we will be treated to empanadas wine and/or juice. This is a great opportunity to socialize with everyone and feel at home.

After the reception, you will have some free time to explore the grounds. You can be adventurous and choose to go horse back riding, or you can indulge your cultural side with a visit to the bakery or the museum. The options are limitless! After you have worked up an appetite we will be invited to partake in a parilla, which is a traditional Argentine barbecue. At this time we will be treated to a folkloric show of dancing and singing with a few surprises along the way. The entertainment doesn’t stop there - after the show, the gauchos will showcase their skills.

Before returning to Buenos Aires, we will get to drink some mate, which is the Argentine national drink, along with some wonderful desserts. This day trip may just be the highlight of your time here in Buenos Aires!
11:00am - Reception in a traditional gaucho building known as "Rancho de Adobe" including empanadas (meat pies), wine, and juice.
11:30am - Free Activities. Visit a museum, bakery, and several other parts of the ranch. As you make your way through the ranch you can go horseback riding or ride around the ranch on a tractor. Then the gauchos demonstrate how they put seats on the horses with horse trips.
1:00pm - Lunch Time - Enjoy grilled traditional sausages, short ribs, and chichen. A specialty salad will be prepared including provenzal potatoes mixed with carrots and eggs. Your choice of drinks includes red or white wine, cola, sparkling water, and water. For dessert, enjoy ice cream and coffee.

During lunch, you´ll be treated to a lively folklore show with traditional singing and dancing. Fun local dances will be performed including the participation of the public. Enjoy carriage rides, tractor rides, and horseback riding. The gauchos will show you their creole skills including ring-races, horse mildness, and troops retail-trade.

2:30pm - The Gauchos will demonstrate further skills such as "Carreras Cuadreras", "Carrera de la Sortija", and more.
4:00pm- Snack: Enjoy the energizing national drink of Argentina, "mate" (hot root tea), and sweet cakes with quince jelly.
4:30pm - Return to Buenos Aires

Spent nearly an hour in the bus and needed to pick up other guests from other hotels. Then, needed to change coach at the gathering point.
