The tour guide did an excellent job providing background on numerous sites in Charleston. The only things that detracted from the tour was the fact we were constantly moving so we did not always see what the guide was pointing out. Additionally, the number of sites pointed out was almost overwhelming.

We arrived at the visitor's center ahead of our tour time as recommended and checked in with the Gray Line rep on duty. While we were waiting for our tour to depart, we wandered around in the gift shop and the center. There are several interesting exhibits and information stations to keep you entertained as you are waiting. Our tour guide Susan was very personable and fun. She expertly navigated the narrow streets of Charleston, pointing out various points of interest along the way. She even recommended some great local restaurants! Once the city portion of the tour was complete, we journeyed out to Fort Sumter via boat. The ferry was very comfortable and the ride was smooth. There was plenty of time to wander the fort and discover all manner of history. After returning on the ferry, Susan picked us up again on the Gray Line bus and returned us to the visitor's center. The Gray Line bus was very comfortable and the A/C was very refreshing after walking in the hot sun.
