Starting at the corner of Michigan & Monroe, this tour will take you past all the sights of Chicago’s Historic South Side. You will head south out of the Loop down Michigan Avenue past Art Institute of Chicago, the starting point of historic Route 66, Grant Park and the site of Chess Records. Your journey will continue along Lake Michigan on South Lake Shore Drive. Travelling on you will see President Obama’s home, Robie House, University of Chicago and Jackson Park and the Museum of Science and Industry. The return trip will take you through Museum Campus and past Buckingham Fountain
Upon completion of the tour you will take your voucher (at your discretion) to Exchequer Restaurant and Pub located at 226 S. Wabash Avenue. You will receive a personal, 8 inch, one-topping Chicago Style Pizza and a soft drink. Pizza, drink, tax and tip included.
Exchequer Restaurant and Pub was opened in 1969 and features over 500 pieces of great Chicago memorabilia on the walls including historic newspapers and photos. Rumor has it that the restaurant was a “speak-easy” in the roaring 20’s (when it was called the 226 Club) and was patronized by none other than Al Capone.This land tour will take you past all the sights of Chicago’s Historic South Side.
