Early morning flight to İzmir, birthplace of Homer. Depart for Ephesus, one of the twelve cities of the Ionian League during the classical Greek period. Ephesus was also one of the “Seven Churches of Anatolia (Asia)” that are cited in the Book of Revelation.
Day 1:
Visit to the old Greco-Roman city of Ephesus, Marble Street, Odeon, Bouleterion, Temple of Hadrian and Serapis, Agora, Library of Celsus, Great Theater, Double Church, Arcadian Way and Gate of Magnesia. Last abode of Virgin Mary at Mount Solmissos and lunch at Selçuk. Then we will visit the İsabey Mosque, one of the oldest and most impressive works of architectural art remaining from the Anatolian Beyliks. We will end the day with a visit to the Ephesus Archaeological Museum and the Temple of Artemis, one of the “Seven Wonders of the Ancient World”. Dinner and spend the evening at your 4-star hotel.
Day 2:
Drive to Pergamum, an ancient Greek city and the capital of the Kingdom of Pergamum. Visit to Aesculapium, ancient medical center built in the name of Aesculapis, God of Medicine. It was here that different healing methods like blood transfusion, meditation, therapy with music and sound of water were first used. After lunch we will continue to the Pergamum Acropolis with Athena and Trojan Temples, Temple of Zeus, Temple of Dionysos, Gymnasium of Youth, Odeon, Library, Agora, Great Theatre and Roman Bath. Dinner at hotel and overnight.
Day 3:
We will arrive early in the morning to Pamukkale "the Cotton Castle", a beautiful and spectacular natural wonder near Denizli. You’ ll have a brief break at the hotel where you will have some time to take shower, freshen up and rest. Then we will visit thermal spring waters that have been used since the time of the Romans. These waters are well known for their therapeutic powers and for the fantastic formations of stalactites that have been carved by the springs. The thermal center with its motels, thermal pools, an archaeological museum. Dinner at hotel and overnight.
Return to İzmir for evening flight to İstanbul.
