Be seduced by the eternal charm of Tuscany´s artistic cities where the beauty of monuments is linked with the rhythm of life and where every stone encompasses centuries of history. Travel through the hilly Tuscan countryside before reaching the splendid medieval city of Siena. Siena is universally known for its artistic treasures that have been recognized by UNESCO as a "heritage of the humanity." Once in Siena, visit the famous Piazza del Campo, with its unique shell shape. Here the Palazzo Comunale (1298) is flanked by the tall Torre del Mangia (1325) and every year the famous Palio takes place. You may use your free time to visit the splendid Cathedral, one of the greatest artistic expressions of the Middle Ages. Admire splendid buildings and churches along narrow, lively streets.
From Siena take a panoramic journey on our way to the ancient fortified hamlet of Monteriggioni. Along the way admire vineyards and olive groves in the heart of the Chianti territory. Monteriggioni is a small jewel built during the thirteenth century and embraced by its still intact walls. Take a walk within the restricted perimeter of the surrounding walls with eleven towers and discover a beautiful corner of Tuscany suspended in the Middle Ages. A short distance away, in a pleasant country estate surrounded by aromatic plants, you will be served a lunch of local Chianti products. Then enjoy a guided tasting of a selection of fine Chianti and Vernaccia wines that are passionately managed with expertise by the friendly owner of the farm.
After lunch we will leave the farm traveling a short distance to San Gimignano, another beautiful town and UNESCO world heritage site. It is famous for its untouched, medieval town planning with numerous and beautiful towers giving it the name the "Manhattan of the Middle Ages." This town is also known for the "Vernaccia" wine produced here. A stroll in the town center means discovering true jewels of art, among which are Piazza della Cisterna, the Dome, Palazzo del Podestà and the Church of Sant´ Agostino.
Next we travel to the famous town of Pisa, one of the best known places worldwide. Here we will find the UNESCO world heritage site of Piazza dei Miracoli. Admire the unrivaled marble masterpieces in the green lawn. Other grand expressions of twelfth and thirteenth century Romanesque architecture can also be found here such as the famous Leaning Tower, magnificent Baptistery, stunning Cathedral and Monumental Graveyard.
