Two stars instead of one because I love a boat ride no matter what and was happy to see a different part of the state, but can't really credit Gray Line for that. I took a swamp tour with another company 2 years ago and so I have something to compare with, and this tour did not hold a candle to that one. If the goal is a twangy, extremely noisy boat ride surrounded by other boats in order to see an alligator, this is the tour for you. If you are looking to really enjoy a quiet boat ride through beautiful nature with lots of photo ops, this is NOT the tour for you.Negatives first since they far outweigh the positives. This was definitely more of a lake/river-type environment, surrounded by truly deafening airboats the ENTIRE time. The boat was too big to actually go through the swamp. Any time the captain wasn't talking he was playing country music, and if it were Cajun or some sort of local music that might have been fine but it was pop radio music like Shania Twain which I personally despise, and therefore it was even harder to tune it out. To assume that everyone would like it, or to not care either way, is definitely less than professional. Regardless, no music would have been much preferred in order to actually enjoy the surroundings...Not that a bird could be heard over the, again, deafening airboats. It became clear right away that this was strictly about finding alligators for the tourists to feed marshmallows to and take pictures of, assuming you were able to squeeze through the people to be able to see anything. It honestly felt a lot more like a wide-open zoo than anything else.Positives: The information I was able to hear from the captain over the airboats was interesting and informative. As mentioned, I adore a boat ride, but this one was hard to endure. I recommend a different area and a different company.
