I am not one to give bad reviews or to complain. But our experience with the Grayline tours in NYC was absolutely awful. My new husband and I were on our honeymoon, doing a tour of the east coast and stopping for a few days in some major cities. Having only a couple of days to do NYC, we decided to splurge on the biggest package of Greyline tickets so that we could see everything. Our first bus ride was the night tour. The "guide" on top had no idea what was going on, and was extremely irritable and rude to anyone who spoke to him. We departed, and he didn't start any kind of tour at all. I asked if this was the night tour, wondering why he wasn't saying anything, and he had no idea what tour it even was. He had to go downstairs and ask the driver. He came back and said it was the night tour, but there wasn't a guided tour, and that we could listen to the recording in the headphones. We tried, but the recording was so badly off timing that we couldn't even remotely figure out what it was talking about. The next tour we tried was the main loop. No tour guide then either, but at least the recording was on the right timing. We got off about halfway through the tour to look at a pretty cathedral, but 30 mins later when we tried to get back on where we had gotten off, the bus drove past us while we waved and stopped a block ahead, pulling off before we could run to get on. So we waited in that spot 30 mins for the next bus. It stopped a block back where we had been before. We started waving from where we were thinking we couldn't run fast enough to catch it, but it passed us without stopping. So an hour and a half later, we finally catch a bus. No guided tour on this one either, and the pre-recorded tour is broken too. So we just kinda rode around NYC with no idea what we were looking at. We didn't even bother riding the other loops we had paid for. It was a complete letdown, especially after having fantastic experiences with other buses in other cities. It really kinda ruined our trip to NYC. :(

We sincerely apologize for your experience the day you joined us in NYC for your honeymoon. That is absolutely not the standard that we set and expect for our destinations. Although some tours that we offer do not have guides, we will be reaching out to our local team to discuss your experience, the guides, and ways of avoiding this in the future.

Recordings were very outdated, six years outdated it seemed.
