Nuremberg - the name brings to mind emperors and medieval councils, the Reformation and Albrecht Dürer, but at the same time reminds us of Nazi party rallies and the Nuremberg trials. The historic old town with its mighty castle and city walls, its many churches, monuments and picturesque half-timbered houses still show the glamour of the old imperial city. Monica our tour guides was fantastic in making this trip a great experience with added extra information. She speaks slowly so all participants, including those, like myself, whose first language isn't English, can understand her clearly. Her guided tour through the old town was informative and filled with tips that most of us end up using in the end

Our tour guide (Katharina) and our driver (Hans) were both great. We saw a very large number of things in a single day so really got our money's worth. One thing I would personally have liked more was more time in the museum of the courtroom where the Nuremberg trials took place! There was so much to read and see but we only had an hour. I could have spent three. Of course, that is because of time restrictions and not the tour guides' fault. Maybe the tour guide could provide an introduction/overview of the trials on the bus ride to Nuremberg, but she already had so much to tell us about Munich and Nuremberg generally that I know it's hard. Maybe a film could be shown on the bus?

Beautiful old town. Very interesting day trip for anyone interested in history and the Third Reich. The Documentation Centre and old Nazi rally grounds were fascinating. Monica was an excellent guide. Our driver Stefan was very reliable.
