Nova Petrópolis Tour: German Origins

9 hours approximately

Price Breakdown:

The history of German immigrants is retold through the Pedras do Silencio Sculpture Park. The Park has more than 80 sandstone works, created by three gauchos sculptors. The journey to know the sculptures is 400 meters and takes place in the midst of nature. Along this tour you will find benches and shadows to contemplate the silence that the sounds of nature bring.

In the Imperial Line (panoramic) we will contemplate the architecture of the place, which was the cradle of rural cooperativism and economic development of Nova Petrópolis. We will visit the Immigrant Village, where we can see the rescue of the entire history of the arrival of the German immigrants. We will also go to Praça das Flores (Flowers Square), famous for the flowering plant beds of the season and for hosting the Green Labyrinth, which challenges visitors on a secret path amid cypress trees.

At Casa Sander, located in the Nine Colonies region - colonized by Germans from Bohemia, we will learn about the production of fruit, jellies and artisanal juices. In addition, we will have two stops for shopping: The first at the Aspen Center, a shopping gallery where we will find knitwear, leather and cosmetics stores; and the second stop at Mukli Alfajores, which produces handmade alfajores made with authentic Uruguayan dulce de leche.
