Day 1 - Transfer Airport / Hotel.

Day 2 - Breakfast. Excursion to Otavalo Market.
Depart from Quito through the Pan-American North Highway until arriving to Cayambe, where the passengers will have the opportunity to taste the delicious “Bizcochos de Cayambe”, a type of cracker or bread baked in a clay oven (greatly paired with local cheese or caramel sauce). Afterwards, we will make a brief stop at “Miralago”, to admire a wonderful view of Lago San Pablo, amazing views. The tour then continues to Otavalo where Otavaleños (natives) set up a market in which a bartering manner of shopping is taken place. The market hosts a variety of different handcrafted items.
Passengers may choose between staying longer in Otavalo or go to visit to the leather shops at Cotacachi. On the way to Cotacachi, we will visit a traditional workshop of Andean instruments "Ñanda Mañachi" located in Peguche and then reach Iluman, land of shamans and healers, where we will have the opportunity to witness an ancestral indigenous ritual by a Shaman.
In Cotacachi you have enough time to visit the village, the shops of leather goods and free time for lunch. Return to Quito picking up passengers in Otavalo (spot determined by Gray Line Guide).
  • Bus will wait for 10 minutes in Otavalo to pick up passangers that stayed there, after that will return to Quito with passengers that are on board.

Day 3 - Breakfast. City Tour & Equatorial Monument.
The tour starts with a panoramic route among the banking and financial areas, shopping malls and La Mariscal neighbourhood, where most of hotels are located. We continue towards the Historical Centre of the City where the following attractions will be visited: La Basilica church; Plaza de la Independencia, walking through the colonial streets we´ll find the Cathedral, the Government’s Palace and La Compañía Church, where adornments and gold altars can be appreciated. We continue to the San Francisco church built in the XVII century. (Church entrances are not included). Then the tour continues to the “El Panecillo” (entrance included), beautiful place where you can admire a beatiful landscape of colonial and modern Quito. We will stop at the “Zona Rosa” of the city, to have free time for lunch, and then continue to the northem part of the city, heading up to the “Middle of the World City” (entrance is included) where the monument that divides the Northern from the Southern Hemisphere will be observed. It was built during the XVII century when a French Expedition defined the precise location of the equatorial line. At the end, optional visit either to Intiñan or Ethnographic Museum (entrance is not included).

Day 4 - Breakfast.
Departure from Quito through the ¨Avenue of the Volcanoes¨ admiring the beautiful Andean landscape which is a great opportunity to take pictures, brief stop at the Cotopaxi National Park (entrance is not included). Arrival to Riobamba and accommodation in a typical hacienda of the region.

Day 5 - After breakfast departure to the train station located in Alausí.
From her we´ll enjoy a train ride towards the famous ¨Devil’s Nose¨ (a magnificent work incrusted in the Andes), return to Alausí (train ride takes aprox 2 hours). After the train ride visit to the Ingapirca Inca Ruins (entrance is not included), the biggest Inca archaeological complex in Ecuador from the XV and XVI centuries, (ticket to the complex not included) trough the ride you will get to watch the weavers of the famous “Panama Hats” at work.
These are typical artisans from the area. Arrive to the City of Cuenca to spend the night.

Day 6 - Breakfast. City Tour Cuenca.
We will travel through the city visiting the Calderon Park, the New and the Old Cathedral, the Flower Market, Modern Arts Museum.
We continue the tour to the Homero Ortega Panama Hat factory to observe the complete process of manufacturing. We will also observe the “broken bridge” and finally visit the tourist balcony of “Turi” where we can see a panoramic view of the whole city of Cuenca. Free afternoon.

Day 7 - Breakfast. Transfer Hotel / Airport.
Flight to Quito (air ticket included). Transfer Airport / Hotel in Quito.

Day 8 - Breakfast. Transfer Hotel / Airport.
