Itinerary

As the cultural root of Shanghai, Songjiang preserves brilliant and unique prehistoric, ancient and modern cultural significant features. You will visit the Guangfulin, an archaeological site over 5,000 years old that was restored in 2009. The Archaeology Site Museum, which is partially underwater, covers more than 9,000 square meters with 20 demonstration pavilions in the park, preserving the ancient local life and the culture.Above water, the museum symbolizes the discovery of the region.

Next, you will stop at the newly opened Shimao Wonderland, a stunning structure of the Intercontinental hotel built on the site of an abandoned quarry. A traditional Chinese lunch in a local restaurant is followed by a walk in the Songjiang University Town, the largest higher education sector in mainland China. Before the trip back to Shanghai City, visit Fangta Park, one of the first celebrations of traditional Chinese architecture following the Cultural Revolution, including the city's Square Pagoda and Mazu Temple.
