Stanley Park is a beautiful peninsula park in Vancouver that's great for a stroll to enjoy the sights of the city. The park is full of beautiful gardens, the Lost Lagoon, and the famous seawall. It's an excellent location to take the grandkids to enjoy the outdoors and learn about the indigenous, colonial, and Canadian history of the city.
Capilano Suspension Bridge is a fantastic place to take the grandkids to explore the park that surrounds it and enjoy the sights of Vancouver. The iconic bridge is 460 feet long and stands 230 feet above the river it’s named after. Viewing platforms are hung among the trees, the Cliffwalk hangs off a granite cliff, and, at night, the park is full of spectacular light shows.
Granville Island market is the best part of Vancouver to learn about the city’s food and delicacies. Located in one of Vancouver’s most fashionable areas, there’s a huge variety of fresh food on display, arts and crafts to peruse, and the covered market has a fascinating history to discover.
Grouse Mountain towers 4,000 feet above the city of Vancouver and will give you some of the best views of the cityscape. VanDusen Botanical Garden is full of the flora of British Columbia and from across the world. When you visit, you will see 7,500 different species as you wander through the gardens. VanDusen is full of tranquil water features, holds a Japanese garden, and celebrates local indigenous culture.
Vancouver’s Museum of Anthropology is world-renowned and the best place to learn about the indigenous culture of British Columbia. The museum is full of a variety of artifacts and displays of work by the First Nations of the Pacific Northwest and from around the world.
Science World is full of interactive exhibits detailing the history and future of a wide range of topics and research. It’s a brilliant place to inspire the kids' interest in science. Science World is contained in an iconic, futuristic building that was originally built for the Expo 86 World’s Fair.
Vancouver Art Gallery holds 12,000 works by Canadian and global artists in its permanent collection. Many of these are from artists of the First Nations and western Canada. The museum is housed in an ornate neoclassical former provincial courthouse and is accessible for those with wheelchairs and service animals.
