Itinerary
Our first stop is Doune - a well preserved 14th century castle, set amid the lovely Stirlingshire countryside.
Here you can take an audio tour of the Castle* narrated by Monty Python's Terry Jones and hear the exciting history of the medieval castle and it's residents. Doune Castle is the atmospheric stand-in for the fictional Castle Leoch in the TV show Outlander and can also be seen as a film location in Game of Thrones. (Gray Line offers you a 10% discount on the ticket price to Doune Castle)
We then journey north passing lochs and mountains before stopping at Kilchurn Castle set on the banks of Loch Awe; this is one of the most photographed Castles in Scotland and often seen in Calendars
Our next stop is Inverary, where your driver will give you a tour of the picturesque town and you will have plenty of time to enjoy lunch, and perhaps visit the jail* or castle* (featured in Downtown Abbey)
Leaving Inverary, you can enjoy views of Loch Fyne, famous for its seafood, before heading over the mountains with a brief photograph stop at the top of the Rest & Be Thankful Pass.
We then stop in the village of Luss, located on the banks of Loch Lomond before returning back to Edinburgh via Stirling with views of Stirling Castle.

Absolutely loved our guide, Graham. The highlights of the trip were Doune and Inveraey castles. Also quite liked the "rest and be thankful" stop. If I were to suggest changes: I didn't feel the stop immediately after Doune was necessary, and I'd have preferred to spend more time in Doune, as it felt a bit rushed. Overall a spectacular day out and a great value.

Very good tour, but a little long. At one point we had about an hour between stops.
