This was an excellent trip in every respect. It started with the customer service of the company. I only found the trip on the web, after hours on a Saturday. I wanted to join a tour on Sunday, but the website was already not accepting reservations that close to time of departure. I called the local number, and the woman who answered told me there was space, and kindly suggested that I book the tour and pay online with a Monday reservation, but assured me that they would accept the reservation for Sunday (now about 10 hours from the time of my call). The driver was courteous and picked me up at the appointed time. He had my name and verified it was me. Safe driving all the way.The local guide Lydia was a blast, and did a great job of telling us about interesting plants along the way, as well as information about the volcano. Pacaya was fascinating, got some great photos and video of lava flowing, and roasted a marshmallow in a hole in the ground using geothermal (volcanic) heat.Do know that the hike is strenuous if you aren't acclimated to altitude and in reasonably good shape. You'll be working to get your breath on the way up and pounding your knees on the way down. But fear not, if you need assistance, there are guys who follow your party leading horses, and for an additional Q200 charge (a little over $26) they'll give you a lift. I didn't need it, but the other two in my party did.I wasn't all that excited about the spa, to be honest. I went along because it was part of the package. I was wrong. The "thermal circuit" was just what the doctor ordered after that strenuous hike I just described! The hotel and spa are beautifully designed, and while the downstairs pools were a chaos of families splashing and yelling, the thermal pools are upstairs in a very-peaceful, adults-only section.Bottom line … this tour is worth every dime I paid for it … strong recommendation!

Everything was great, tour guides were great, pick up on drop off were on time, ride was comfortable, Hike was a good difficulty level. short but challenging. scenery was beautiful. and the combo of hike then hot springs was perfect. It was so nice to see the volcano in the view as you enjoyed the thermal spa.Highly recommend if your in the area. Especially if your looking to get away from the busy city for a day.
