Tour Overview
During this excursion you will visit majestic Loire Valley castles, masterpieces of the Renaissance and birthplaces of major moments in French history. Art and history have combined to create a charming way of life in this region known as the "Garden of France."

Take a guided tour of the elegant Renaissance Chateau de Chenonceau castle that is famous for its bridge spanning the Cher River. Then relax and enjoy lunch on your own on the beautiful terraces in Amboise or Chenonceaux. From there we will visit the royal castle of Chambord, the grandiose castle of King François 1st and the largest in the region, featuring its famous double helix staircase built by Leonardo de Vinci and its lush, beautiful grounds. Finally, to complete your visit, you can discover the Loire wine heritage through a wine tasting.

  • Mondays and Saturdays in summer: visit of Amboise instead of Chambord.

Chateus were very crowded. Guide could have taken us through the furnished rooms in Chambord.

I liked this tour. But it was a long time in the bus and not enough time at the chateaus. I was also dissapointed not to see Amboise where Leonardo spent his last days. Is is possible to take a train to the Loire valley and then meet the bus there so we could spend more time at the chateus.

Definitely one of the most breathtaking parts of my European tour.

I've visited this area many times and wanted to do it again with my granddaughter. This is just about as good as a tour gets: there are many castles of the Loire valley, and the three offered on this trip were three of the best--diverse, and with history that almost everyone can place.
