Tour Overview
Departing from Paris in the morning, we will head North through the region of Normandy and into Brittany, home of the UNESCO Site of Mont Saint Michel. Our first stop will be for lunch at a local restaurant facing the Abbey. Overlooking the white beaches between the two regions, Mont Saint Michel is a sight to behold. According to legend, the Archangel St. Michel appeared to a local bishop and ordered him to build a chapel atop the 258-foot high mount and an abbey quickly followed. In order to accommodate the growing number of pilgrims from across Europe, it was constantly embellished with new construction, sometimes built directly on top of prior additions.

Following the 3-course lunch, we will take a guided tour Abbey. Learn about the history of this massive construction and the international influence that it had. Afterwards, you will have free time to explore the village at its base. At approximately 4:30 pm, we will depart back to Paris and make a rest stop along the way. Arrival back in the city will be around 9:15pm.

Meal choice would improve experience. Better value - especially for those not fond of fish.

The tour guide was excellent. The bus was comfortable. But the tour was much too short! By the time we got done with lunch and actually headed to Mt Saint-Michel, we had only 2 hours to tour and enjoy this UNESCO world heritage site. What a shame! This needs to be improved. Either make this an overnight only tour or have the group travel by train (if that would be faster; I don't know). We walked through the monastery so quickly from room to room, I barely had time to take pictures let alone ask questions. I do not think this tour was a very good deal and would not recommend it to anyone I know unless more time is given.

the tour went well, everything on time without any problems. the schedule was good. our tour guide, Roberto, was very good, although soft spoken, he imparted a lot of information to the group and looked out for the welfare of all of us.I would commend Roberto on his guiding skills.

Excellent trip with enough time to explore by yourself. There was some minor confusion about where the bus let us off and how to get back to the bus at the end of the day, since you have to walk on a causeway to get to Mont Saint Michel and back to bus loading zone.
