I highly recommend this tour to anyone that is thinking about booking. DO IT! My husband and I recently traveled on this tour. All the stops were very beautiful. We choose not to visit inside the castles and spend our time enjoying the walk to the Neuschwanstein castle. It is a bit of a walk to the top. During winter they have horse drawn carriages and in summer they also have a shuttle service for those who do not wish to walk. Our tour guide Lucy was full of interesting information and was very attentive of all customers on the tour. Lucy is a great tour guide and an asset to the company. Our driver Peter made us feel safe the whole trip.Overall a magical experience that will never be forgotten!Thank-you Gray Line

Couldn't fault it. Don't buy your gifts in the first town, wait till the one after the first castle!! I promise it is cheaper and has a MUCH better selection the ober-blahblah one.Nearly didn't book with Grayline because of the bad reviews but glad I did book!! Tour was super. Taking my parents next year on this

I think the trip was too quick. I would rather to leave Munich earlier and spend more time in each place.

ITINERARY

Wander through the scenic German countryside on your way to the legendary extravagance of the German castles Neuschwanstein and Linderhof. Known for their elaborate construction and world-famous architecture, these two extraordinary structures were dreamed up by Germany’s own Ludwig II, also known as the Swan King. You’ll soon find out why many believe Neuschwanstein inspired Disney’s storybook castles--get ready to feel like you’re living a real-life fairy tale. Hidden in the seclusion of the mountains, German King Ludwig II built two of his dream castles: Neuschwanstein and Linderhof. Both testify to the vision of Bavaria’s fairytale King.

Departing from Munich, you’ll first visit Linderhof Castle, a French rococo-style castle inspired by Versailles itself and surrounded by immaculately manicured gardens. A quick shopping and photo stop in the charming village Oberammergau will recharge your batteries for the second half of your day. You’ll arrive at idyllic Neuschwanstein Castle around 1:00 p.m, where you’re free to enjoy approximately 4 hours to explore the castle.
