Wouldn't know company cancelled
Reply From Gray Line:
Hello,

Our sincerest apologies that we had to cancel the tour at the last minute. We do recognize that this was most definitely an inconvenience on our plans and that it may have altered your holiday itinerary a bit unexpectedly, and for that we do wish to express our regrets. Unfortunately, for some tours the call to cancel is made with little time prior, we do try our best to notify all customers in the unlikely event of this happening. We hope that we may be able to make up the experience at another time, and look forward to welcoming you onboard our tour if so!

The entire experience was very enjoyable. Revise the time schedule a bit to allow more time at Graceland and the tour would be perfect. The tour guide / bus driver was very open to ideas and suggestions. I would definitely do another Grayline trip in the future.

I enjoyed the Graceland tour, the Sun Music tour and time on Beale Street. However:I felt they tried to pack too much into the day. The time at Graceland was too short and the ticket collection was poorly organised and ate into the short time we had there. The coach we travelled on was not fit for purpose. It was VERY uncomfortable and we felt every bump in the road. There were no facilities on board (although we did stop for a comfort break). It all felt very rushed and at times I felt unsafe. We were told the PA system on the coach was poor quality so the driver didn't use it.We also suffered a burst tyre (not surprising considering the above)which took a while to fix, hence we were left at Graceland not really knowing what was going on whilst the tyre was repaired. This impacted on the time we had available in Beale Street. Luckily the tour at Sun Music was able to be rebooked for a later time slot. This could have been a really fantastic day. The reality was that it was a very stressful day and to be honest I was reluctant to get back on the coach for the return journey.

Hello,

We do apologize for the experience you received on the Memphis Day trip. We normally use a full size Motorcoach for that particular tour but on the day you joined us we unfortunately did not have one available. We apologize that this vehicle ended up with a flat tire, and have issued a partial refund to your account as a direct result of this.

Unfortunately due to problems with the bus, we missed the Peabody Hotel Duck Walk. Our problems began when we left Nashville. We heard a big bang under the bus but the driver did not stop to check. He looked at the dashboard, said his steering was fine. We arrived at Graceland and did the tour. After, the driver told us it was a blowout and someone was coming to fix it. We stayed there 2 hours more until it was done. We proceeded to Sun Studios and then Beale St. Upon returning to Nashville in the dark, a trucker kept trying to flag us over. The driver and trucker finally stopped. He told the driver the bus had no tailights! He fiddled with the switch & got the lights on. I told the drive his dashboard wasn't lit either! All the passengers were quite anxious at this time. We felt our safety was not put first. We couldn't wait to get back to the hotel.I recommend a larger, more comfortable bus and 2 drivers to do this long trip. It is a long day and trip for one driver.

ITINERARY

From Music City to the Mississippi, Gray Line of Tennessee shows you the best there is to see. Come experience the legendary character of Memphis, TN and see why this city is mentioned in more song lyrics than any other place on Earth. Located on the Mighty Mississippi River, Memphis is the birthplace of Rock 'n' Roll, the capitol of Blues and home to some of the best bar-b-que you can put in your mouth.

Ride with Gray Line for a full day adventure as we walk in the footsteps of legends. Celebrate 60 years of Rock 'n' Roll with a visit to Elvis Presley's home, Graceland. We'll see the burial site of the King of Rock 'n' Roll, walk through the Elvis car museum, and see two deluxe airplanes that he used for tours and traveling. We will also take time for lunch on your own at Graceland, allowing you to get even more out of your time at this world-renowned place.

Next, we're off to learn what accident set Rock 'n' Roll in motion at Sam Phillips' famed Sun Studios in the heart of Downtown Memphis. Take a guided tour to see what the recording process used to be like. Hear the stories of how many legends got their start here, such as Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison, Jerry Lee Lewis, and the King himself, Elvis Presley.

A trip to Memphis wouldn't be complete without a duck walk. See the famous Peabody ducks make their way down the red carpet from their fountain to the elevator as they head to bed at the lavish Peabody Hotel. Hear the story about why this started and how it continues today.

Then take time on your own to explore Beale Street, where you could dive in to some Blues and bar-b-que, or take a short stroll to the Memphis Rock 'n' Soul Museum. There's plenty to do in this lively downtown scene.

We will finish the day with a drive by the Mississippi River, so you can tell your friends and family that Gray Line of Tennessee showed you best Memphis has to offer.
