11am bus had a late start of 12 minutes. This is frustrating if you want to fit in enough stops to get off & on all day. The trip was spoilt by the excessive wind on the top deck in the open sections when the bus went at about 70 kph. It was difficult to hear the live tour guide over the wind & traffic at times. The tour spiel was a bit boring - names and dates etc, like a history lesson. It was adequate to give us the layout of the city but anecdotes about the residents or city would have added more interest value. The bilingual translating became very tedious & multiple languages through headphones would have been more efficient.
Reply From Gray Line:
Hi Natalie,

Thanks for letting us know your thoughts on the tour you took with us recently. We definitely do understand the importance of frequency on these bus routes, as our customers have booked this with the goal of seeing as much of the city as possible in one day. While sometimes we can get caught up in traffic, we do acknowledge that the bus should leave the first stop when it's scheduled to. As for the tour spiel itself: It is certainly our main goal to provide interesting, unique, and balanced tours for our customers, and it's unfortunate to hear that on this tour we missed the mark for you. We will be sending your comments to our Ottawa Office for review, in hopes to improve the experience for future customers taking the same tour.
