The tour was the perfect amount of time.

Overall, it was a good tour. Our guide, Juan Carlos, and driver, Carlos, were great. There was a bit of cheesy silliness, especially around the whole human sacrifice thing, but that's somewhat to be expected. The transportation was the nicest we experienced our whole trip, and the soothing oldies music was a definite plus. They were mindful of things like bathroom breaks (even though some weren't in the best condition, but not their fault) and even though some things took a bit of waiting (like getting our lunch stickers) it all worked out in the end. I didn't find the X'men ceremony to be very valuable, and it was a bit awkward, but oh well. Also, even though we were up at the crack of dawn, it was definitely worth it for the smaller crowds and cooler temperatures. All things being said, I would definitely recommend this tour, and it was the best I did while in Cancun.

ooked this tour because we wanted to arrive early to avoid the bus crowds. The driver - Carlos was very endearing and although his English is a work in progress, he was very kind and informative on our trip. We really liked him. Our tour guide was Jaimi and he was excellent. Very good English and extremely informative and knowledgable about the site.Breakfast boxes were good...delicious sandwiches, granola bar, juice and fruit. Our only suggestion would be a quick coffee stop on the way too! Lunch was really good...so many options. We enjoyed sampling the Maya and Mexican choices. The 'ceremony' is a bit silly without an explanation of what we were actually experiencing. We had to ask a lot of questions to find out the importance of the various components. We spent the extra hour we had before lunch re-exploring the site as there were some parts we had not been to on the tour. Not sure why they don't just make the tour three hours instead of giving free time??? The reason we ranked average instead of very good is....Originally was told to be at a nearby hotel (20 minute walk from our own hotel in downtown Cancun) at 6:30 PM. We were texted the night before that we would actually be picked up at our own hotel (good news) but at 5:45 instead. The reason??? Instead of going from Cancun to Chichen Itza direct as the tour indicated, we had to meet up with another driver with another couple from Playa del Carmen...apparently 45 minutes out of our way. We thought not a huge deal. However, on the way home...apparently the other driver was not available so we had to go TWO HOURS out of our way...all the way to Talum. Not impressed. Wrote an email upon return to discuss and have not received a response. We would not have booked a tour that went to Talum on the way home as this was complete waste of our time and meant for a longer day than necessary. An apology at least would go far but to just be ignored is not good customer service.https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g150807-d1103701-r564751557-Gray_Line_Tours-Cancun_Yucatan_Peninsula.html#
