I really enjoyed the tour and the option of having two days to hop on and off. Montreal has a lot to see and you really need at least two days to visit museums and other tourist attractions. I also had a lovely tour guide. However, I did not enjoy the evening tour. I did not know it was unguided, also it was intended for riders to view the city at night but the bus driver never stopped or slowed down for pictures.

We have done hop on hop off tours in Chicago and New York and were very pleased, however the one in Montreal was a disappointment. The part that was most upsetting was on day 2 of the tour, we were told that there would be two more buses that would come by for us to get on and finish the tour at the end of the day, however the second bus did not stop, it just drove by and we were left there on Mount Royal trying to get a cab for 5 people. 2 hours later we finally got back to our hotel room and after $28 in cab fares to boot. We did call Greyline when we were there and we did explain this to them and the fact that this actually happened on two nights, but they were not able to help as there were no other buses. They should at least pick up the cab fare and telephone calls that we incurred as a result. We also found that the tour guide in most of the buses did the tour in both French and English and there was just not enough time to do them both in a relaxed fashion and so I felt that I only got half the story. Also difficult to understand English. I would have preferred separate buses that did just in English.I also would have preferred buses with the option of using ear buds.

Hi Vincenzo,

Thank you for taking the time to let us know your thoughts on our Montreal Hop On Hop Off service. We certainly understand the value of the time you get during your time in town, and are let down to hear that the frequency of our vehicles is not what anyone would have wanted, and that you felt you needed to resort to other means for transit.  Although there are safety regulations put in place regarding the number of passengers we are allowed to carry per bus (and thus, when they can stop and/or pickup more customers), we know that sitting at a bus stop, unsure when the next bus will arrive is no way to spend a day out in a new and exciting city like Montreal. Please accept our apologies on the matter.
